The playgrounds are empty, the streets are bare…

The carnival is dark, and no candy to spare

Skipping ropes lay dormant in the middle of the street

no pitter-patter of any little feet

No butterfly combs or playing with hair

Stagnant toy cars, little boys nowhere.

Greeted by silence,

in this cruel world where few seem to care…

Childlike giggles no longer fills the air…

I really need to know…

Where do all the missing children go?
