Immortal, yet mortal

Lost in a maze of darkness

With no light to guide me

I cried for help,

But no one heard despair set in,

But hope remained

Like a small flame, flickering in the night

I clung to it,

Desperate for warmth

But the darkness threatened to engulf me

Still, I held on, refusing to give up

I smiled, held it in.

At times I’m lost in this darkness,

But I won’t let it claim me.

Thoughts swirl in my mind,

Like leaves in a stormy sea.

I’m overwhelmed and anxious,

My mind is filled with dread.

But deep down, I know I’m strong

And I will not give up instead.

So I smile
