She knelt down next to her bed
As she cried off her guilt and shame.
Stained were her hands,
Bloody as the floor down the stairs
And all you could smell in their sitting room was only blood
And it never could have been hers.
Her tears would literally stop falling,
And her heart would be filled with hatred
Every time the scent of another woman’s perfume from her husband’s shirt hits her nostrils.
Silent was their house
As her husband’s corpse lied down peacefully on the ground.
With several holes on his abdomen,
As if they represented the times he had cheated on his wife.
All Justin could sense,
Were the flash backs of his life span.
Wishing he had never cheated,
But it was too late for his life was on its way to eternity.
His brain functioned for the remaining seven minutes before his spirit could depart.
As he remembered the verses and books he used to preach about at church on the pulpit, ‘thou shall not commit adultery’.
Justin tried to pray his way into the light, but his spirit could only see the darkness of his work,
”Our father who….who is art in heaven, ha…ha..ha”, his unwilling to die mind starters.
Justin heard a voice in his ears in the mist of his last moments, ”for in the next life, one wakes in the place of his works”, it was at that moment he wondered if the heavens would accept him.
In the last minute of the seven minutes, the last verse he remembered was, ”for none can ever repent after death”, suddenly the cool air around him vanished, as he heard thousands of people screaming for help.
And in a blink of an eye, Justin was in a pit of his sins.
