A seed that germinated
45 years back
I can almost see it though I wasn’t there
The pain and strangles
it had to undergo
Soon I saw a tree I’ve longed to see
Yet it was horrified but a s brave as a soldier
I can almost see it
Though I wasn’t there
A tree captured in a young lass
I recall 1976
As tiny as it was
It longed to be uncaptured
it longed to dance with the wind
I can almost see it
Though I wasn’t there
Tears that fell like rain for the sake of change
45 years back ,it broke silence
As young as it was , it believed in one thing and one thing only
I can almost see it
Though I wasn’t there
“Freedom “, just freedom was all it ever wanted
45 years back ,it broke free , for the sake of change
It’s home has been weeded ,it grew into a youthful tree
A revelation to the youth movement , our own and new spoken language
I can still see it
Though I wasn’t there
The power of choice ,
We all got freedom ,at last
