It is from the basement of my heart that I seek this poem.
It is from the ceiling of my pride that I request this forgiveness.
To see you share your smile elsewhere makes me regret my life.
I’ve carried your love as an egg but pushed too hard.
You were meant for me and no one else is worth my strife.
What does love mean to me without you as my guide?
They say I should move on but who else can I want?
I would rather be alone while listening to my heart.
So long as I toss and turn and smile with delight.
I shall wait for you to see me in a different light.
