Grace is in the coffee shop with a mug of coffee, Whitney comes in.

Whitney. : hi.

Grace. : hi… Have a seat ( Whitney pulls out a chair and sits) Do you need something to drink?

Whitney. : no I’m fine, I just had lunch a few minutes ago.( said as she sits )

Grace. : okay. I… want to ask you some questions, that’s if you don’t have a problem.

Whitney. : I don’t have a problem, you can ask me anything and I’ll tell you the truth.

Grace. : how many times did you sleep with Alfred ?

Whitney. : two times.

Grace. : were you dating ?

Whitney. : no. Uhm… We… It was a one night stand.

Grace. : so you never dated him ?

Whitney. : never. Listen I know you’re mad at him right now but please find it in your heart to forgive him. When I told him I was pregnant he asked for a DNA test and when the results came back, he was so stressed because he didn’t know how he would tell you, and he thought you’d leave him if you knew the truth. So we decided to keep it a secret. He loves you very much.

Grace. : I know that. Its just hard to accept that he cheated and have another child, on top of it he lied for 13 years.

Whitney. : there’s more. ( Grace looks at her) I asked him to tell you the truth because I want to leave my daughter in good hands.

Grace. : what do you mean “you want to leave your daughter in good hands” ?

Whitney. : I… I don’t have much time left in this world. I’m… I have cancer, the doctor said I only have 5 months to live and now I’m left with 4.

Grace. : why don’t you find a donor or something ?

Whitney. : the cancer is too strong that it has also damaged my heart so finding a donor won’t help. I was hoping you’ll look after my daughter when I’m gone. I know I’m the reason for your divorce and for that I would like to deeply apologize.

Grace. : I’ll think about it.

Whitney. : please do. ( looks at her watch) my lunch is almost over, I have to go back to work.

Grace. : oh, mine too. Thank you for coming to see me, I really appreciate it.

Whitney. : thank you for calling me. ( smile and leaves).

Caitlin is in the car with her dad. They are going to the shop.

Caitlin. : dad can I ask you something.

Alfred. : okay.

Caitlin. : have you and mommy divorced yet ? ( Alfred looks at her ) you know what I mean.

Alfred. : Not yet my sweetheart.

Caitlin. : so we are not going to be together as you promised.

Alfred. : its tough Cat. But its your mothers wish.

Caitlin. : and what is your wish dad ?

Alfred. : well I wish to be with my family again, I wish your mother could forgive me and give me another chance to prove how much I care for this family.

Caitlin. : I wish mom could stop being mad at you.

Alfred. : ( smiles and nods his head) That’s a good wish, let’s hope it’ll come true soon.

Caitlin. : yeah.

At night, Grace comes out of Micheal’s car. Angel is in the kitchen drinking water. Grace opens the door and see Angel.

Grace. : how are you my Angel ? ( smiles)

Angel. : who is he mom ?

Grace. : who is who ?

Angel. : the guy with a black car.

Grace. : he’s not important.

Angel. : well I think he is important.( raises her voice)

Grace. : excuse me?

Angel. : who is he ? ( asked with a firm tone)

Grace. : what is this about ?

Angel. : so he’s the reason you’re divorcing dad, right ?

Grace. : He’s got nothing to do with me divorcing your dad.

Angel. : but he’s got something to do with your feelings ?

Grace. : what do you know about feelings girl ?

Angel. : nothing.

Grace. : exactly. ( shouts)

Angel. : ( shout) but I do know that you are selfish, you don’t even try to consider dad’s feelings or even ours. You are happy with other man while your marriage is falling apart. Do you even have any idea how this affects us ? ( lowers her voice ) What kind of a woman are you?

Grace. : Angel that was my friend from work. ( loudly)

Angel. : a very good friend huh?… A friend who takes you out almost every day. Its not the first time I see you with him. I wish you could spend more time trying to fix your marriage than spending time with other man.

Grace. : stop taking your fathers side, you still young. You can’t understand. He did terrible things to this family. (Yells)

Angel. : what’s more terrible than jumping into a relationship while going through a divorce ?

Grace. : your father cheated. ( screams)

Angel. : does cheating start with him ?, How will a divorce change that ?. It happened and nothing can change that, just get over it mom. ( she storms to her room)
