WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR OWN VIEW OF LOVE AND GOD’s VIEW OF LOVE
WHAT IS GOD’s LOVE LIKE?
You know what, I’m supposed to answer that question, and I just froze because another question just came to mind. What is JESES’ love like? That’s the question. GOD is the father of JESUS, and JESUS is the son of GOD, right? But GOD is inside JESUS, and that makes them one. So GOD’s love is surely the same as JESUS’ love. And now it doesn’t matter whether I say GOD is love or JESUS is love because they are one? I don’t know whether that’s a question or just an answer.
Okay, coming to the question, GOD’s love is amazing. I can say. He does not run out of love. How cool is that. He created us out of love and not out of boredom. Like, look, when he created the heavens and the earth, he saw that all was good but kushota the MANKIND, which is us humans. So he designed us as his own image. That’s love on its own origin, don’t you think so? That’s not all. He sent his son to die for us. His pain was healing unto us, and his death was life unto us. Imagine giving up your son to die for other people. But to GOD, we are not other people. We are his children. So it’s like GOD gave up JESUS’ life to rescue all his other sons and daughters from sin. That is SELFLESS love. Imagine how Marry felt. I can’t imagine myself in her shoes.
So GOD’s love is SELFLESS, FORGIVING, NEVER RUNS OUT , AND REAL.
WHAT DOES HE SAY ABOUT LOVE?
He says all about love in 1st Corinthians chapter 13 verse 4-8. I love that scripture. I love it so much. By any chance, you can read it for yourself and try to understand it. But most of it all LIVE IT and ask GOD to help you on that, and surely he will, I know. I’ve noticed that we as people bottle up this love topic. Like we limit it, especially kweli xesha siliphilayo. We tend to think that it’s for couples or to be done once when you are inside a romantic relationship only. If you read the bible and this verse, just know that it’s not talking about love inside a romantic relationship. It’s about love for others whether you know them or not, whether you grew up with them or not.
Let us get this straight, the word LOVE is big, and as big as it is, it is accompanied by some small other words that make it meaningful. Looking at the scripture mentioned above, in this scripture, we are told what love is, what love looks like when it’s a VERB. Being patient with others, showing kindness to all whether young or old, do not envy which is to be jealous, do not boast which is to brag, and do not be proud which is to have pride. Just by not doing all those DON’Ts and doing all the DOs that are mentioned above, that is LOVE on its own and effortlessly. Have a look that no materialistic things are mentioned to show love. Love has never been a NOUN but a verb. You show it, you live it. Continuing to read the entire scripture, it sticks to how we should behave, and that act would fall under the word love. GOD says simple things about love, and people seem to misunderstand them and see them as the hardest things to do while they are not.
So if you’d like to know whether you DO LOVE, I’m not saying whether you feel love, check out the scripture, and see if all that’s written there, are you living it. If not, try and live. I love the way GOD demonstrates it. Ask GOD to help and guide you. Living out the word LOVE will bring a huge change to yourself and to how you see things.
HOW HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED HIS LOVE?
Experience, a word with one meaning but many stories to tell or outcomes. I wonder who came up with this word and what they were thinking or feeling. I’m just wondering. I’ve experienced GOD’s love in many ways, honestly. When you get to that ERA of realization, there’s no going back. I don’t know where to begin, but I can say his love is always there and around us. We just have to be still and listen. That way, we will see it.
Some people love GOD’s love when it’s tangible but I love his love more when it’s untangible, unseen, unheard, but felt deep inside, when it’s more about the inside that the outside. When it can be felt and not touched, I love it like that because there’s just a sense of joy, love, and peace with it. That’s what I can say. I guess we all have experienced his unconditional love in many different ways. But tell me, have you ever just sat down and thought about how much he loves you? Not for what he does for you or for what he can give you but just for loving you, accepting you the way you are, but too loving to leave you the way you came to him and just starts to change you inwardly.
If you haven’t experienced that, I pray that you experience it anytime soon. SEEK HIM FIRST uyafumaneka, and HE is waiting for you.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR OWN VIEW OF LOVE AND GOD’S VIEW OF LOVE
Honestly, if I hadn’t made this decision to grow closer to GOD last year, I wouldn’t know how to answer this question. Out of all the decisions I’ve made in this life and age, this is the best one so far, and I can’t see any other decision that’s bigger than this one and worth taking. The way I viewed love in the past and how I view it now is totally different. Not different because of the age I was before and the age I’m in now, no, not like that. I do not have the exact words to describe this, but let me try. Okay, the way I used to view love outside Christ is different from how I view love inside Christ. I think I managed to put it out correctly. I hope it makes sense. I feel like age does not really matter how you view love. What matters is which view you are using, GOD’s view, or the worlds view, and the same applies with happiness.
When I was young, well younger than the age I’m in because I’m still young, just older than the young I was. You’d always be told to do what you love, and I did it, I guess, in terms of hobbies and any other stuff in general. Was I happy? Of course I was. But was GOD happy? Is that what GOD says we should do, or is it just what the world says we should do? Have you ever asked yourself that? I, included, have never asked myself that because I thought it’s how it’s done. So last year, as I was in this journey of growing closer to GOD and seeking him, I asked GOD what does he wanted me to do for him or what does he wanted me to do? Consider asking him that question. And he responded and said, ” Don’t do what you love, but to everything with love.” Trust me, at that moment, I did not understand what he meant by those words, but I trusted him with whatever he told me to do because he is all-knowing. As I continued to try and understand this message and I understood it, I started doing things with LOVE, like he said everything. Trust me, it was not that easy to unlearn what you were taught and to learn something new. But if you are a person who is willing to change and wants to be changed, it can be easier than expected. So far, I’ve learned to do things with love, and it’s life changing. That I was never thought by a human being but by GOD himself. He teaches you the unknown when you give yourself fully to him.
I hope now you can see these different views, GOD’s view and the worlds view, and I also hope you enjoyed this reading. To wrap it up, GOD’s view of love is for us to DO EVERYTHING WITH LOVE.
Stay BLESSED.
