3 am aka the devil’s hour thoughts

Waking up at 3am, sometimes it maybe because we are hungry, thirsty or even too cold or to hot, but most often insomnia is psychological. it’s time that the mind wants to clear out certain thoughts that were avoided during the day. sometimes it’s thanks to our work, socializing or family time.

The devil’s hour is when our deep minds are trying to get us to have a meeting with certain insights in the quieter hours of the night. it’s a sign that we have repeatedly not been doing the sort of self-reflection that we needed to do in order to be at peace.

Avoiding your thoughts is not a result of being lazy, we are simply escaping, for very understandable reasons, from what are liable to be a range of very difficult thoughts, perhaps about work, a relationship or even our childhoods.

Some of the questions you can ask yourself, that may help.

1 What am I truly, truly sad about at the moment ?

2 Who has hurt me?

3 What needs to change ?

4 What is the real grief beneath the surface anxiety?

5 What is my gut telling me that I need to know now? and what to do next.
