Alot has change whenever I got money there’s always involvement of my daughter Esihle.I became pregnant while I was still at school then get birth in Matric. I didn’t enjoy my last days at school because I’ve already disappoint my grandmother MaPhewa. She’s been a mother, a father and a granny to us.

She’s always there for me and my little sister Olwethu even we disappoint her alot but she knows the word ‘family’ .She can play the role. Luckily I did passed my Matric with Bachelor’s degree and still haven’t found any University.

I didn’t just sit at home wait for University to call me. I know it’s was gonna take lots of time so I used my Matric Statement to help me gets the job. My first job it’s was in the Restaurant where I was working very hard.

A day I was making R115 and working hours were from 09:00am – 10:00pm. It’s was too far from home so I had to find a place to rent. I worked there almost three months every month I used to send money at home and things for Esihle that would last a month.

I was so afraid of the place that I was living so I didn’t bother to make friends. My daily routine was come to work , eat , bath , sleep , go back to work and send money at home.

After three months I leaved the job and I went back at home. I was tired , missing EsihLe and even loosing weight. I didn’t enjoy seeing MaPhewa working taking care of me , Esihle , Olwethu and other siblings.

It’s feels like I was lazy and taking advantage. I stayed at home one month then I looked for another job luckily I got the job as Sale Assistant in Town. I had to find another place to rent. It’s was a great job but there was no day off.

The payment was very good compare to the restaurant but no time to spend with the family.I worked almost one year there. I was the oldest at work because all the girls were coming and leave due to no offing thing.

I thought maybe I was the one who was desperate and hungry for the clean money. I stayed there until the trusted me with everything their bank accounts , kids , stock and safety. They increased my payment and gave me a rest on Sundays.

I was very happy I was supporting MaPhewa with everything now grocery , toiletries and things for Esihle. After one year and two months things changed at work. The newcomers mistreated me.

They will gossip about me some even told me straight to my face that they don’t like me. I didn’t know why or maybe it’s was because me and my boss Mrs Pillay we were best friends. Actually even my supervisor Tayo and other bosses were my friend.

They were owning five store not just any store Massive stores and someday I would go and worked in some of them when there’s lots of busy.

I couldn’t enjoy being at work because I was isolated. Newcomers will be laughing , chatting and giving me rough looks. So I decided to look for another job while working. I told Tayo about the mistreat and he set a meeting.

He told them to treat me well because soon or later I will their supervisor. After a week they were doing worse than before. I thought telling Tayo was a bad idea or maybe it’s because they had that I will be a supervisor as time goes on. Luckily I got the job so I leaved the Mrs Pillay’s job without informing my lovely bosses and Tayo.

Mrs Pillay didn’t stop telling me how much she loves me and wanting me to fix whatever happened. I would receive missed calls and texts so I couldn’t take it anymore I blocked her. I didn’t want her to chase out those newcomers because they were also there for feeding their families.

My last job I was very luck again that I was the only one working. There’s was no other girls just me and my manager Fazila Sayed. We were doing birthday cakes , wedding cakes , cupcakes , pies etc. We were supplying to big store like Save Supermarket , Checkstar , Delta , Spar etc.

I was getting my payment weekly it’s was much better. A day I was making R250 and there’s no hard work. My working hours was from 07:00am -14:00 sometimes I will knock off at 13:00. I was very happy working with Fazila. She was very generous sometimes we will share our sad stories.

I told her about my previous job and she was so sad. One day she ask my Identity Document then I handed it to her. The following day she came and she asked me if I were given a chance to be a teacher will I take it and I said yes. She told me that she applied for me in UNISA for teaching I will study for 4 years while I’m working.

I couldn’t believe it I was extremely happy and I thanked her alot. I never left Fazila Sayed’s job the brand was called ‘Something Homemade’. I’m doing my teaching in UNISA while working that my first year in UNISA. I say maybe those newcomers made a good thing to mistreat because I left there I got the well payed job and there’s no other girl only me.
