We all know how if you want to be successful in this world you have to attend school and study hard, but is this really true?
I am a grade 10 learner, so I don’t really know much about life but I am beginning to see life differently. I was once told that if I work very hard at school I can be anything but now I am beginning to think this is not always true. There are thousands of people out there with degrees and Masters yet they are still unemployed. There are people out there who didn’t even work that hard in school yet they are millionaires in mansions. So this left me confused, I began to wonder whether working hard is pointless because I can easily focus on other things that could make me rich, quickly at that, than to go to school for years and end up not being successful.
Sometimes you work very hard and even get a Masters but you struggle to get employed because you are over-qualified.
Sometimes you work very hard and get the job that you have wanted but you end up not being happy in life.
I am beginning to think that I should not work very hard in school and focus on other things like modeling and sports. These are one of the careers that don’t need that much work and actually pay a lot of money, you don’t even need any qualifications for them. So yeah, school can blind you from seeing how the real world really is.
