I MISS THE DAYS

‘I MISS THE DAYS’

I miss the days where looks weren’t really important: We would roast someone about how they look but still love them dearly

I miss the days of WeChat, Bbm and MXit; Where we knew what someone was up to, even listened too (Bbm), and really connected “fairly” (cause of the same social apps that didn’t need likes.

I miss the days, where I would just sit around at the corner, with no cellphone, with my friends, and we would just make fun of someone who’s “nervous” when passing…. And we would be quiet till they left, and burst out laughing. Now its ‘Facebook, Twitter combined with bad grammar’.

I miss the days of of bro codes and pranks; daring each other that “you” won’t get “her” and wouldn’t tell my girlfriend about it: Cheating wasn’t a real thing cause at the end you knew where your heart belonged.

I miss the days of the late Nelson Mandela; Where we were a proud country, living among an icon who freed us. But NOW, we even ashamed of watching the State of the Nation Adress (SONA) and also calling this “My country” – When last did you even sing the national anthem?

I miss the days where ‘l love you’ was not only said; Guys would stand outside their girls yard and whistled, in need of them. And girls would call back

saying “please call, I’m coming”.

I miss the days where I would wake up in the morning, have a real breakfast with my family, even later go sleep over; My parents knew that I was always honest and I had real friends.

I SURELY miss the days where “weed” was just considered a herb. Smoke a joint with friends and talk bout “the good old days”, but now its a gateway to other drugs…. well to some people.

I also miss the days where Facebook was just a platform for everyone to post about their lives (postively), music, business; Now its a place of “felebs”, “2000’s”, “Sex” and “likes”.

I miss the days where places weren’t considered to be gang related or crime populated but a place one would love to go to cause it had a nice vibe, and was considered the place where it had the best “turn ups”.

I really miss the days where I was never told that I would grow up and see the real world.

Cause growing up really SUCKS!!!
