My advice on following your own path and focusing on your own dreams, journey and ultimately never giving up.

I remember when I was in high school a few years ago as a teenager I had big dreams and I still do (they are a bit bigger now). At my age now I thought I would have it all but life happened and things don’t always go according to plan. Nothing in life is ever perfect but our dreams never die and where there’s a will, there’s always a way. I know that I will get there eventually that’s why I never stop trying and I never give up.

There are so many pressures out there to have this or that at this particular age which is not really fair as our circumstances are never the same. Life sometimes gives us lemons and sometimes things don’t work out. We plan but sometimes God has other plans for us. It is ultimately your choice to turn your lemons into lemonade.

We all have big dreams and want to have it all but it might take some time or even a couple of years and that’s okay because slow progress is better than no progress at all and as they say “life is a journey not a destination”. I work hard, try harder, keep pushing and keep knocking on those doors and most importantly I keep going.

Believe me I know it’s not easy when your friends and peers are out there doing big things and it seems like they have it all while you don’t. You see them driving fancy cars, wearing expensive clothes and living the life you’ve always wanted and dreamt of but you are far off or a bit behind but that’s okay such is life and your time will come eventually. It is a race not a sprint and you’ll still get to your finish line at your own pace and time just be patient.

Your life can’t be the same as that of another person. We can’t all have the same things or achieve success at the same time. We all want a good life and we all deserve it but we are all not the same, our situations, circumstances are different and most probably we’ll never have the same things in life completely.

Our friend’s successes should not be a reason to hate or be jealous but we should take it as motivation. If they can do it surely you can too. It is very important to stay in your own lane, focus on your own life and journey. Achieve your own dreams and not those of other people. Don’t be a copycat or try to live a life that’s not your own because of whatever pressure that’s out there. It is your life and you should never let anything or anyone judge you because you haven’t achieved this or that at a particular time or age.

There’s no set time for anyone when it comes to success. Everything happens according to God’s will and his timing is always perfect so don’t lose hope and just because you haven’t reached success or achieved a particular goal today doesn’t mean you won’t tomorrow or at whatever particular point in time. As long as you put in the work, dedication, you believe in yourself, keep trying and going when you fail or even in times of difficulty God will make a way and all your dreams will come true.

Losing a battle doesn’t mean you’ve lost the war. Rest if you must, change direction or take another route but never stop trying. Never ever give up on yourself or your dreams and never compare yourself with anyone. Do you, always be original, go out there and go get your dreams it’s never too late.
