Betrayal hurts us all, it comes from those we trust ,love and believe on. This story is basically real life.
My name is Simnikiwe, and I am 16 years old,I have experienced betrayal from my friend I trust. Masbu was the friend that I trusted at the time before the betrayal. I used to hang out with him and my other friends Lethu,Shawn and his older sister.
We were all best friends until the conflicts between me and Masbu. I think the betrayal is caused by sharing about the girl I love and have a huge crush on. That girl was Mary, she is beautiful, dark skin, oval face, she was just perfect for me that’s why I liked her, I mean love her. So I told the lads that I love this girl, I shared my feelings of how I feel about her. One day I was confident enough that I talked to her and asked for her number, guess what happened? I got it, then she was officially my girlfriend.
I think she was feeling the same way because when we texted each other, we were talking like people who love each other. All of that love was happening, I heard that Masbu is talking to her and she is hugging her, and I ignored that because I was thinking Masbu was convincing her that I am a better boyfriend.
Things between me and Mary became weirder, that love we had was falling apart slowly. Many of Mary’s friends were saying to me that I am losing her to one of my friends as ignored them and say inside ” baqhunyiwe aba” . One day I visited Mary going with my friends, so Mary gave me one rand because I am her boyfriend so I denied it because I had money.
The painful part was when she decided to dump me, it was planned. My friends laughed at me, I felt so embarrassed and betrayed. Then Masbu asked Mary to be her girlfriend in front of me, I ran away from them cause I was angry ,hurt at the same time sad. After a few days I started to focus on myself, sharing beautiful pictures of me just to make Mary want to come back to me, I wore my clothes in a drip way I guess.
After doing the same thing every day Mary’s friends came over to me and told me that Mary wants me back as they say that she had broken up with Masbu. I was smiling for a second and realised this girl had dumped me for my friend so I said no because I still had the pain of the betrayal.

The moral of the story is to be careful of the people you trust or love, they can disappoint you one day.
