When I heard and learnt about Moya app I was jobless, struggling to communicate with my former work colleagues. Things were though, one has to hustle for something to eat, busfare and airtime. 

Being an old fashioned type of person made me struggle while Moya was out there to help people in my position. I had a lot of breakup communications and missed some important gatherings too. My former work colleagues were conducting some discussions on Whatsapp groups, sharing job opportunities while I and another few were relying on phone calls only. 

I did not like WhatsApp because of the people who tend to misuse things. The group title would be job opportunities, so I would be expecting to see people posting job-related posts only, but you would find them posting soccer stuff which would lead to non-stop arguments. 

It looks like we were not on the same level and we were not sharing the pain of losing a job that was making us put food on the table. Looking at them and my situational background, I saw that we were not from the same background. I had noted that my data bundles were not lasting even an hour while I expected them to last me at least a week.

I chose to step down from WhatsApp because I saw that I was on the wrong bus. I would attend those few meetings I heard about and wait for God’s mercy to find airtime or call.

We were at Durban City Hall park filling out our UI19 forms when I heard about Moya App. I overheard the word moya when my former work colleagues were talking about methods of communication. I waited for them to finish up their conversation and asked them to tell me more about Moya App, they did and I did not waste time installing it. 

After installation, I was the one who send a message to test if everything was as they said. From there on I started preaching to my friends about Moya App till today. I took my time to learnt about stuff found on Moya App such as FunDza and newspapers.

With Moya I got a painkillers pill, as an old fashion type of person Hospitals, clinics and Doctors are not my favourite palaces to visit. If I am in a sad or happy mood, I knew that if I scroll through Moya I will find a piece that would match my mood.
