“People tend to think in boxes. When people who don’t know my music meet me for the first time they assume that because i am a so-called coloured woman from the Cape I sing jazz, gospel or R&B. It takes them by surprise that I can rap and do ragamuffin, or that I am a woman and can produce music with computer software!”
