Wild Animals I Have Known is an 1898 book by naturalist and writer Ernest Thompson Seton. As the initial example of realistic wild animal fiction, the volume quickly became a bestseller. “Lobo the King of Currumpaw,” the first story in the collection, became a classic, establishing a archetype that would similarly depict animals, especially predators, as noble and honorable beasts.
