Imagine finding out that your textbook is stolen, three days before your exam, and your mom is on your case yelling about how careless you are. It’s a real nightmare. The universe is again conspiring against me or the devil is testing my patience – I don’t know what’s really happening.

Just like I don’t know what really happened to it, coz last time I saw it was in my backpack and today when I wanted to study guess what… it just was not there! Even Sim hasn’t seen it (he has this tendency of taking my books without my permission), no one has seen it!

As if that was not enough… Simphiwe, with his clumsy hands, pours juice on my laptop and now it’s not working! And then he has the bloody nerve to say it was an “honest mistake”. He was lucky mom was around otherwise I would have killed that little twirp! That’s how pissed I was.

All my notes are stored in there!

Mom is yelling about how careless I am, as if I didn’t hear it when she first said it. If I had a penny for all the times she has said that I would take myself to Disney Land; flights, visa and accommodation! Yeah, that’s how often I hear it.

“Don’t fret it,” Tee said when I called her and asked.

Don’t fret it! Since when does she speak like that? It was so funny that I just cracked up – I seem to be doing that a lot lately when I’m stressed out. Laugh out loud. So after I laughed and calmed down, I saw that it actually isn’t all that bad.

Is it my fault that someone thought they needed the textbook more than I do, and so stole it? NO! And it’s not my fault that Sim is all thumbs; he’ll always be awkward and clumsy, especially when he’s nervous or excited. And thinking of my brother tumbling all the time is the funniest thing!

Besides, I’m sorted. I know that book cover to cover – well, the modules we covered anyways.

I don’t need this negativity now…!
