Ayurveda and Ayurvedic hair treatment has been around for ages. It is an ancient Hindu practice that is based on using natural herbs and plants to grow healthy hair and treat scalp issues. Below is a recipe for how to make your own Ayurvedic hair butter which contains anti-bacterial properties, and all the necessary vitamins and properties that promote the growth of long, thick, and healthy hair. This hair butter can be used on all hair types, including 4C.
You will need:
1 cup of raw and unrefined shea butter
½ cup of Fenugreek powder.
½ cup of Neem powder
½ cup of Moringa powder
½ cup of Amla powder
15ml Coconut oil
10ml Grapeseed oil
Directions:
You first need to pour boiling water into a medium-sized pot on a hot stove. In the pot, place a medium-sized bowl – preferably a heat-resistant glass one – which you will use for your double boiling method.
Add all your ingredients to the pot.
Carefully stir the mix until it melts completely.
Once completely melted, take off the heat and let it sit until it is cooled. Once cool, pop into the freezer until it is completely set.
Once it is set, whip the mixture until it is a smooth buttery texture.
Transfer to a clean container with a lid to store.
This hair butter contains ingredients that reduce dandruff and strengthen the hair follicles. You may incorporate this mixture into your liquid, oil and cream method – story for another day – and enjoy healthy and moisturised hair.
