The next day after bathing, he left for work. Jan was first to arrive, he found the doors had been opened and found Mr Tari in the office.

“Boss, I thought you would come next week.” Jan said sincerely.

“Is everything OK here?” he asked, concerned.

“We have a little situation.” Jan said, scared.

“What is it?” he spoke louder.

Jan checked if they were alone.

“Thomas is stealing from the shop,” he whispered.

“You are accusing him. Do you have proof?” he said.

Jan told him how many days he stole and also about the goods. He told him about the hidden camera. Jan sent a message to Shingi to record the event and bring it over.

When Thomas and the other workers arrived they behaved as if there wasn’t anything wrong. They resumed back to work. Shingi came after their tea break. He gave the CD to Mr Tari. Mr Tari watched the video. He saw there weren’t a lot of customers. He asked Jan to close the doors after the shop was empty.

He called all the five workers. They sat down and didn’t understand what was happening except Jan. They were getting nervous.

“You have been loyal to me until recently. Someone is stealing from me.” he said as he faced the wall. Jan just looked at Thomas while the three grumbled, making noise. “We will see the thief on the video.” he continued.

Thomas stood up.

“Who recorded it?” he shouted.

“It doesn’t matter. I want us to see who has been stealing from me.” Mr Tari spoke harshly.

“Who is the thief?” Virginia asked.

“I don’t know. Let’s see the video.” Tawanda said.

Mr Tari played the video. Tawanda, Sheila and Virginia were shocked. Thomas stood up and went to the door.

“Where are you going?” Jan asked, standing.

Thomas left and Jan ran after him. The police were by the door and handcuffed Thomas. Mr Tari and the others followed them.

“Who called the police?” Jan asked.

“It was me, I knew Thomas was cheeky, so I called them to wait outside.” he answered.

“Sir, please, I will return everything, please forgive me.” Thomas called out. The police took him in a van and took him away. Sheila and Virginia consoled each other. Jan and Tawanda went back in the shop. They resumed their duties after an hour. Everyone was still shocked but at least the thief was caught.
