While abroad doing his studies, Abuna lost his father. The king had cancer but he didn’t tell anyone about that, including his wife. Before he died, he wrote a letter to his son telling him the cause of his death and so he begged Abuna to return and take the throne. The death of King Kalijoza left the whole village heartbroken. His only son, Abuna, came, and together with the villagers, mourned the king. Abuna regretted not telling the king about his lover, Arielle, who was expecting.

After mourning his father, Abuna went back abroad to continue his studies. Knowing that he had a wife abroad, Abuna had to go back and finish what he started. He told the elders that it would be a waste of time if he didn’t finished his studies, so they allowed him to go and his mother temporarily took the throne. Arielle gave birth to a son who they named Akothi, the conquerer.

While abroad, something very unpleasing happened in the Kambuwa kingdom. Abuna’s mother fell in love with a man who was known to be the best friend of the wicked Kalikokha. His name was Silumbe, one of the men who had badly wounded Kalijoza, the deceased husband of the queen. The king himself, just after the burial of Kalikokha, forgave Silumbe and all the other men who beat Kalijoza so badly. It was a sign that King Kalijoza had forgiven the dead soul of Kalikokha.

How quickly the two got married surprised everyone in the village. After he got the news, Abuna got very angry with his mother, so he hurriedly booked the bus to his home village. He couldn’t wait to vent his anger towards his mother. He felt that his mother had disrespected the soul of his kind father. Before leaving, he promised Arielle to call her into the Kambuwa kingdom as his wife immediately after he was sworn the king.

He planned to announce about his wife and son after being on the throne, since he knew people would only be mad at him for a short time after he became a king. He was confident enough that everyone would love the good character of Arielle after some time. Upon reaching his home, he visited his mother with a visage of anger. Seeing him coming in the distance, Silumbe hid himself to hear what Abuna had come for. He watched the two quarrelling and hated Abuna so much for his good reasoning in what he said to the queen.

Silumbe was a very bad person who never acted without an intention. He pretended to fall in love with the lonely queen and convinced her to marry him quickly. It was the kingship he wanted and now that Abuna was there, he was very determined to achieve his ambition. Mad Kalikokha had been a dearest friend to him, so he couldn’t let the ambition of Kalikokha fail for good. He felt that the soul of his friend would rejoice seeing him ruling on his behalf.

Before Abuna was sworn in as king, he called Arielle, together with his son, and hid them in a lair. He commanded his loyal servant, whom he trusted most, to take good care of them until he was sworn in as king. Unfortunately, before he was sworn in, Abuna was poisoned and killed by his stepfather, Silumbe. It was night while the servants left for a sleep when Silumbe sneaked into Abuna’s room and put the poison into his gourd.
