Justin ordered a Chinese takeaway and calls out for Adelaide so he could dish up. Cleo sits with him on the couch laughing about the Steve Harvey show on television. Justin took off his dirty socks and doesn’t bother picking it up from the floor. He goes to sleep straight after eating.

“Hey you left your dirt…” Cleo shouts and cleans up. Cleo hates mess and dirt. Justin thought he heard cluttering of plates in the kitchen but sleeps it off. Cleo relaxed the entire night, watching TV.

It was still dark outside by the time Adelaide got ready for work. She had already bathed and dressed in her pink suit.

“Wake up. You are going to be late,” she said while removing Justin’s blanket and kissed his cheek. She wished he made breakfast for her but grabs her bag and just eats anything she finds. The floor is shining and the dishes are done. She smiled that her husband is changing.

Justin walked into the kitchen yawning.

“You are doing well, I love you,” she kisses him deeply and makes breakfast.

“What did I do?” he asks looking puzzled. She smiled and looked around the house. He also looked around but still couldn’t understand. He asked again.

“What did I do?” Adelaide laughed at him, she thought that he was joking.

“You cleaned up. Even the floor has no crumbs,” Justin rubs his eyes and looks around. He murmurs a few words, but Adelaide closes the door behind him.

“I didn’t clean up… Hey… So who did?”

Justin thought it was a prank so he prepared himself for work. A few minutes later, he smelt toast coming from the kitchen and thought that Adelaide was back home.

“Please make some for me,” he shouts.

A plate with fried eggs is on the table with hot tea. He notices the television is on and he switches it off. He doesn’t understand how Adelaide has left already. But he soon forgets about it and eats quickly. He walks out, but notices he has no tie and returns back and finds the television on again. He finds his tie on the floor in the kitchen and quickly runs out to work.

“Wow you have a nice place. Finally!” Mary says entering the house.

Cleo panics and vanishes quickly. Adelaide throws herself onto the couch.

“Justin… Justin… He can’t be home,” Adelaide said putting her eyes on the table and sees the plate with crumbs of toast. Mary sits down on the opposite side. She looks around adoring her designs but Adelaide stares around, confused.

“When are you having a party?”

“The TV was on and that plate had crumbs. Justin never left it on and he is not that dirty. He cleaned the place and now this,” she murmurs.

Mary ignores her and looked closely to the vases on the corner of the lounge.

“Is there a ghost or something?” she asked scared and placed her hands on her thighs. Mary sat next to her and brushed her shoulder softly.

“You still afraid of ghosts,” she chuckled. Adelaide looks frightened. Mary wrap her hands to comfort her.

“Sorry mate, Justin left the TV on and that plate is his. It was a mistake.”

Adelaide decides to ignore it, but feels unsafe because she feels like someone is watching her. It can’t be because they are the only people in the house. She decides to put her mind on something else to forget the thought of ghosts. She’s never been so alarmed in her life. She believes ghosts exists, but never desires to see one. Cleo returns to his resting place.

Adelaide prepared dinner since it was late. Mary had gone home. The aroma of the spices she put into the chicken stew made Cleo wish he was alive. He hid himself because he didn’t want to frighten her. He heard a voice and noticed that Justin was back home. The laughter showed their love and Cleo saw how happy they were. He sat in the bathroom thinking about what he could do. He didn’t notice Justin entering and using the toilet. A loud scream erupted, giving Cleo a fright.

“Who are you?” Justin shouted holding a bat. Cleo turned around and observed that he was seen. Cleo lifted his hands and tried to calm Justin.

“Your wife is afraid of me, please I need help,” he said softly. Justin detected that he was harmless and he put the bat down. He knew he was right though.

“Who are you and what are you doing here?” Justin asked calmly and silently checked if Adelaide was in the bedroom.

Cleo relates everything about his relationship and how he got killed in the same house. Justin eyes were wide open as Cleo spoke. He felt comfortable but wonders why his hair is not being blown by the wind because that’s how you sense there is a ghost nearby. It’s what their ancestors believed.

“My wife is terrified of ghosts, you have to rest in peace soon,” he looked at Cleo, whispering.

“You are right. I have to find Jacqueline and Jack.”

The plan was to find out where Jack and Jacqueline were so they could make sure he had a dignified burial.
