Simba felt drained and weak as if he had been working the whole day, though he was just sleeping. He saw the light penetrating through the curtains: the day had begun. He felt something cold beside him and his eyes opened wide. He jumped out of bed, rubbing them. He drew back the sheets and saw a head. The body tossed and looked at him.

“What are you doing here, Tariro?” his asked, his heart beating faster.

“Oh darling, did you miss me?” she chuckled. She got up and approached him, naked.

He paused, still staring at her. He wondered how she had got in because he remembered locking the door before he slept. He had no memory of her arrival.

“Stop thinking too much of this! Just know I missed you,” she whispered, and licked his ears. He pushed her harshly and walked to the door.

“Get dressed and leave!” he shouted.

Tariro was embarrassed and she sat on the bed putting on her clothes slowly.

“You can’t get rid of me. You are mine and I am yours,” she said.

Her eyes were threatening but he didn’t want anything to do with her any more. She walked towards him and he opened the door.

“Better dump that girl,” she said, grinning, and walked out. He slammed the door behind her and clicked his tongue.

How did she know about Lisa? How did she know everything that is happening in his mind? He had a cloud of questions. He didn’t know how she had entered through a locked door. He strolled to his bed and a vision appeared. He and Tariro were intimate. He wondered if it was a thought or something that had happened the previous night. A mixture of anger and hatred was boiling in his body. His phone rang and it was Lisa.

“Baby,” her sweet voice didn’t touch his heart like it used to.

“What do you want?” he shouted.

There was silence. Then she took a deep breath and said, “Is that how you talk?”

He just froze. He was confused and his thoughts battled.

“I missed you, my love,” she said softly.

“We talk later. I have to go to work,” he broke off the call but he felt she wanted to tell him something.

Simba left for work and never called or texted her. She was worried because they were vibey at lunch and now he was offish. She never bothered him but she had to wait for him. Maybe he was stressed, she thought. She would allow him to cool down first.

At lunch Simba was back to his usual self. He felt his heart longing for Lisa. He called her.

“What did I do?” he asked gently.

“What’s happened to you? In the morning I thought you playing with my feelings,” she said, her voice cracking.

“I am sorry but I don’t remember,” he said nervously. He didn’t recall what had happened. He had no memory of it.

“It’s okay, so can we meet for dinner? I miss you.”

“That would be good.” He smiled that he had won her again but still wondered what was happening with him.

Tariro wouldn’t let the dinner happen, so she came to Simba’s workplace. They left together and Simba forgot about his query and his date with Lisa.
