T was the first one up. He was walking around the house as if he’d lost something, he couldn’t sit down.

“Big bro, what’s wrong?” L asked as he got out of bed, seeing his brother pacing up and down.

“This can’t be happening today of all days,” T said as he continued pacing up and down. L was very worried now, he got up and headed to his brother.

“Big bro, what’s wro…” before L could finish he saw through the window that rain had started pouring down and it looked like a huge storm was headed their way.

“No! Not today,” L said as he headed to the balcony, T followed him.

“It hasn’t rained for months and it decides to today,” T said angrily. T looked at his brother whose eyes were holding back a bucket of tears. L headed back inside and looked at the computer for the News.

“But why today?” T said still angry. Huge lightning volts flashed just as T headed back inside. “Maybe the storm will stop and the competition will continue,” T said trying to make his brother feel better.

“No big bro, it won’t matter even if it does stop. Just saw on the competitions website that they’ve postponed it, it will take place in two weeks,” L said in a sad voice as he headed to bed.

T didn’t know what to say. He knew that his brother only had 3 days left alive.

“I guess I won’t b able to get you the Game Station 4000 big bro,” L said disappointedly.

“What do you mean?” T asked confused.

“I was going to use the money to help the poor but half of it I was going to buy you the Game Station you always talked bout with J.” L said as he breathed fast. T couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

“But why would you do something like that for me? I mean, I’ve never been a good brother to you.” T said in a shameful manner. L got up from the bed, sat on it and looked at T.

“Don’t worry about that, I knew you never meant all those things you said or did to me. Actually mom and dad helped me realise that you didn’t mean them. And I wanted to get you the Game cause I hoped it would make you happier and you would allow me to play the game with you. And we could spend some time together doing something just the both of us,” L said as he got teary.

T couldn’t control himself, tears rolled down.

“L look, I’m sorry about how I treated you. I never appreciated you as my little brother and I wish I could take it all back. But most of all I wish you didn’t have to leave me by myself,” T said as tears continued pouring down.

L got up and went to T and held his hand.

“Big bro, thank you so much for being my brother and for being with me as we prepared for the competition. It was the best days of my life,” L said in happy voice.

T looked at his brother and they both went in for hug.

“I’ll love you always my brother,” T said as he hugged his brother tight. The storm continued but it was just rain with no thunder anymore. “L, wait here,” T said as he headed to his room.

L waited and T came out with his Game Station.

“Over the next few days we can play, and if you get bored we can go to the park and just chill there and J is coming back tomorrow so we can all hang out,” T said, his voice was softer than usual.

“Wow big bro, thanks. I’ve always wanted to play your game,” L said in a happy manner.

T connected the Game Station on TV and turned it on. He looked at the smile on L’s face as he was holding the joystick. He realised that his younger brother didn’t hate him as he had thought, in fact he loved him and wanted to spend time with him.

“In two weeks I promise I’ll win the competition for you L. I’ll get the prize money and help the people at that place. And from now I’m going to get out more and help all the poor people,” T said whilst looking at L.

The brothers looked each other and smiled. They both played the Game Station for the first time together and ate some food on the side.
