Natasha takes ice cream and walks into her bedroom. She sits on her bed after removing her black shoes and pulling off her socks. She wears her gown after removing her white uniform. She grabs the phone and the card and saves Alex’s number. She checks if he is on WhatsApp. She is enjoying every moment in her mind when she sees a good picture and silently smiles.

Natasha is blushing and can’t stop smiling when she enlarges his profile picture. He just said she makes a good girlfriend. He looks handsome. She puts the phone on her chest and sleeps. Natasha thinks Alex wants her.
She wakes up earlier than usual; it’s only after 5 a.m. She goes to the kitchen after wearing her warm slippers. Natasha hates day shifts because she has to be at work by 6 a.m. and night shifts are worse because she sleeps when it’s not busy on the empty patients’ beds.
Natasha makes eggs and tomato sandwiches which make the whole house smell.
“Mmmm, crispy sandwiches,” Tariro says smiling. She is in her gown, and she sits on the chair. Natasha places the sandwiches in their lunchboxes.
“Morning, Sweety,” she says.
“Morning Natty,” she yawns.
“I am off to bath,” Natasha walks to the bathroom.
“Natty, don’t finish the hot water please,” Tariro shouts.
Natasha laughs while she goes in the shower. Every day, Tariro finds all the hot water from the geyser finished. Natasha uses a limited amount because she is afraid Tariro won’t have any hot water to bath with, so she decides to leave some hot water for her friend because she is happy.
She grabs a towel and wraps her body. Tariro enters after she senses that Natasha has finished bathing.
“I left water for you. Don’t worry,” she says and goes to her bedroom.
Natasha applies lotion all over her body and dresses into her white uniform. She checks her phone and sees missed calls and two messages, all from Alex.
Morning. You didn’t tell me your name.
I am Natty Natasha. Morning to you!
Oh finally, I thought you have blocked me.

She went to the kitchen after applying her makeup and wearing her socks and shoes. She prepares cereal and grabs milk.
“Natty, why didn’t you make porridge?” She sighs.
“Sorry. I was talking to Alex,” she answers.
Tariro just grabs a plate and pours cereal and eats silently. Natasha can see that she has worked her way in to Alex. It’s just a matter of time until he asks her out officially.
Natasha works in the treatment room and Tariro works in the check-up rooms. Natasha can’t wait to have her first date with Alex. Her mind is elsewhere thinking about Alex.
At noon her phone beeps. A message from Alex.
Can you come to Belle Restaurant?
Yes, I can, at lunch.
Good, meet you there.
There aren’t many patients today so she checks Tariro. She finds her sitting having tea with another male nurse, Fatso.
“Girl, today you eat alone. I am having lunch with someone,” she smiles.
“Who is the lucky guy?” Fatso asks concerned.
“None of your business!” she exclaims.
Tariro doesn’t look and pretends to read as if she is not there with them. She is just surprised why Natasha won’t tell her who she is having lunch with. There aren’t secrets between them.
“Tariro, I am talking to you,” she yells.
“I heard you. Enjoy,” she pushes her chair and leaves.
Natasha can’t see how her friend behaves, all she could think about is Alex.
“Remember I asked you out and you refused. I wonder who is that guy who won your heart,” Fatso remarks.
Natasha walks out and leaves the hospital.
