There is a scripture my father usually asks me to read to him, Psalms 23. Long ago, I used to think that the Bible was just an ordinary book. When I remembered my father’s favourite verse, I now know that God is our Shepherd who looks after us as his flock. He tends to our wounds when we are injured and when we are lost, he looks for us until he finds us.

It is said: “He finds happiness by finding one sheep that was lost than the others which are not lost.” Matthew 18 verse 10-14.

Genesis speaks about all creatures living on Earth. How God created everything on Earth, even the devil was created by Him. If God created us and everything on Earth, it means that we are more subjects or slaves of God. We need to obey God at all times to inherit what he promised us. If Adam and Eve had not committed sin, we would still be living in paradise but this won’t help us. We have to move forward and not backwards. We need to put our faith in God, for we are mere mortals without him.

It means knowing the scriptures, living by the scriptures, and relying on the scriptures is not an easy thing to do, as it’s hard but we have to overcome and seek for God’s guidance.

Temptations will come but as children of God, we are prayer warriors, meaning we are more than conquerors. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, we have overcome a lot of things. Don’t give the devil a chance to win because the war is already won.

My new life has never been easy and people struggle to understand this new person I became. People are full of confusion when I write about God on social media. When I speak about God, some people call me crazy or lunatic, and that’s because I am the only one who can understand why I am like this. My old ‘self’ was crucified on the cross, and I am a new being now. At first, I thought that they wanted to distract me but when I read about how Paul, Peter and the others were also persecuted, that motivated me a lot. They went to jail but they still kept their faith strong. Peter was even thrown into a prison cell but God released him by opening the doors for him. ACTS 12.

GOD takes the sinners who repent and uses them to fulfil his work. Paul is an example. I believe I was a sinner too because I was worshipping idols just because I didn’t know who God is, but now I know him.

For my new life, I had to change my character and my attitude, so that other people could see that I am a child of God. I obey God and I follow all of his commandments and that only needs my determination so that all will go well in the name of Jesus.

I am strong in my faith and I truly believe in the God that saved my life, the God that healed me, the God who does wonders and the God who still gives me the breath of Life. He is truly my saviour, Jesus Christ!
