Everything seemed to happen so fast. It had just been a week after the lobola negotiations and now everyone was planning a perfect wedding for Sihle and Ayammah. It made Melokuhle’s intestines boil. Melokuhle was sure Ayammah was using muthi because even her mom liked Ayammah, everybody did.

Melokuhle did not realise that Ayammah’s muthi was respect, honesty, being active and a smile that never faded. Either way Melokuhle had to cease it. Melokuhle wanted to afflict pain to Ayammah, she was not going to affront her but she was going to do something worse than that. Her plan seemed perfect and her move was sure going to be an skilful one. She was going to adhere to this plan no matter what.

She wrote a poem for Ayammah. That’s all she did for the wedding. She did it so that no one could notice she was up to something. Ayammah beamed as she took the poem. She had to read it over and over again to get it in her head.

You proved them wrong by not being harmful

You may not understand how beautiful it is
But you are this moment and it’s beautiful

The piece of paper that Melokuhle wrote the poem on kept on getting wet because of Ayammah’s tears that kept falling on it. It’s as if Melokuhle knew exactly how Ayammah felt. Yes some people are talented, Ayammah thought to herself.
