The weekend of joy had arrived. Melokuhle wasn’t taking the news very well.
“Mom but Sihle is still young and marriage is a big step. He is still going to meet some girl and forget all about Ayammah besides he needs a Joburg chic with a Joburg style.”
Thembeka looked at Melokuhle angrily. She knew her daughter was many things but she didn’t know that jealous was one of them.
“Leave me alone Melo, do not irritate me. Sihle is also from K.Z.N he needs a K.Z.N chic with a K.Z.N style.”
“But Ayammah cannot live here!” Melokuhle was pretty loud saying she would do anything to prevent it from happening. Sihle walked in at the very same moment, he had sharp ears.
“What?” Sihle gave Melokuhle a sourest look as he asked. Melokuhle just stared at Sihle with her mouth wide open.
“Melo, Sihle is talking to you, tell him what you just said to me.” It was as if Thembeka’s words did not find entrance in Melokuhle’s ears, still Melokuhle just stared at Sihle.
“I was just pulling mom’s leg I know she is looking forward to someone more active then I am. Someone who is going to help her with the house work.”
Those words came out of Melokuhle’s mouth after what seemed like a long pause. Thembeka did not say a word; she just giggled and went to her bedroom. Melokuhle had managed to cloak herself but she knew she was not going to be able to dodge Ayammah.

Dumisani had never done this before. Luckily he found Sigah, someone with experience. Already there were a lot of things he would have done wrong had Sigah not been there. Sigah being a Majola was a bonus to Dumisani although they were not really related. But Sigah was there as a brother and he made things easy with his knowledge.
Dumisani felt good doing this. At least he was doing things right, making up for the mistake he did in the past. Dumisani looked at Ayammah’s father although he was not someone you can look at and feel comfortable because he was so laughable. But he had a lot of dignity and he produced such fine children he had noticed them the time he was there and one of them was going to be his daughter in-law.
