Was Melokuhle about to make a stupid move again? Thembeka asked herself. She knew that Melokuhle would do anything to get what she wants no matter how absurd. Melokuhle angrily looked at her mother, her eyes full of tears.

Why can’t Melokuhle accept that things can’t always go her way? Thembeka was asking herself. But it also crossed her mind that they are the ones who spoilt her especially her father. She gave him an eye of a witch doctor as she thought. For a little while it went quiet in the house with Thembeka and Melokuhle glaring at each other.

“Why can’t Sihle move in with us, mom? He is family!”

“I…do…not…want…him…in…my…house!” Thembeka said the each word slowly but surely loudly enough for the message to be clear.

“Alright, would it suit you if I move to his place?” Melokuhle asked both Dumisani and Thembeka. The parents exchanged looks. Dumisani was just standing there waiting to hear the end. Thembeka just stared at Melokuhle.

“I take that as a yes, I better go start packing now.” She started moving, walking.

“Melokuhle… wait,” Melokuhle stopped walking and turned in a direction of her mom and dad where she left them.

“Fine, Sihle can move in with us.” Thembeka’s face showed how painful it was for her to say those words. She said in a very sad way holding tears that were about to fall. Over the years they had buried their daughter alive.

Ayammah was about to leave the hospital. Sihle was going to be discharged the next day. Ayammah was satisfied by Sihle’s condition so she had no stress about going back to K.Z.N. Before Ayammah said her goodbyes, Sihle received a call that seemed tense.

Ayammah gawked at Sihle and he knew he had to explain about the call.

“I’m moving in with Dum…my dad’s family,” said Sihle.

“For real?” already there was a smile behind Ayammah’s question.

“For real,” Sihle answered excitedly, whatever made his girl happy made him happy. Ayammah was ecstasy.

“I am very happy to hear that my love, now you know what you need to do if you want me to stay with you here in Joburg.”
