The following day, Lihle went outside because the inside of the house was hot. He wanted a place with shade, and he then finally found one. Lihle saw Asanda coming to join him, but she didn’t seem fine.

“Wow, what makes you come and sit with me today? You haven’t done this in a long time,” he asked.

“Maybe I can say I missed you,” she said.

“Oh, really? Thank you,” Lihle said. He then kept quiet because there was nothing more he could really talk about.

“Lihle,” she called his name.

“Yes, what’s it?” he asked her.

She then said, “I broke up with Liyon,” thinking he’d be happy or show some kind of reaction.

Lihle just acted normal and calm and asked her why. Her lips began to shake with no words coming out of her mouth. He then told her to calm down and talk.

Then she started to speak, “Lihle! He raped me,” he was very shocked when he heard that. He told her to calm down, as she was crying.

“What? But why I thought you were Romeo and Juliet?” Lihle said, shocked.

She then said it was because she refused to sleep with Liyon without a condom, so he forced himself on her. However, her crying to Lihle every time she had problems was beginning to piss him off, as if he was a pillow to cry on, but then he couldn’t tell her because he was the only person she trusted with her deepest secrets.

“I am really sorry, Asanda, but everything will be alright in time,” Lihle gave her comfort.

She then thanked him again and kissed him with a smile on her face. Lihle got excited because he knew what that meant: she loved him. She moved a little farther away, and then he followed her.

“Lihle, I am really sorry for everything I put you through. When I said I didn’t love you, I was lying. I really love you,” she said.

“But then why did you choose him?” he asked.

“I chose him because I wanted to prove that I wasn’t dumb as you made me feel the last time we were together, and I chose him because I never thought you would ever come back again,” she said.

“But when I came back, why didn’t you leave him?” he asked.

“It’s because it was not as easy as you think. I thought he loved me,” she said.

“What about me? I loved you too,” he asked.

“Look, Lihle, you can’t go and come back expecting that everything will be the same, okay. I was hurting too,” she said, losing her patience with him.

Lihle said, “I hope I won’t lose you, my angel, to some guy with a car again. Baby, I really love you and I almost gave up that love.”

She then hugged him and said, “Thank god you didn’t.”

They then kissed, and as they were kissing, from a distance, Sihle saw them. Lihle quickly let go of Asanda and told her to leave. Sihle then reached him and looked at him in the eye.

He then said, “So you are kissing my sister. Why are you kissing my sister?”

“I am really sorry, bro, but I love her and she loves me too,” Lihle said.

“Okay, then I see, but just make sure that her aunt and the rest of the family don’t see you because they won’t be as pleased with you as I am. They will beat you up and chase you away,” Sihle said.

Lihle said, “Thank you, buddy, so you won’t tell anyone?”

“No, I won’t tell anyone just because you’re my friend. I won’t sell you out,” Sihle said.

“Thank you, my friend, you’re the best,” Lihle said to him.

He and Asanda then carried on with their love as routine, but this time they had no fear of his brother. They were happily in love. Lihle’s love with his beautiful angel was kept a secret. He loved her with all his heart and his heart pounds for Asanda, no one else.
