Lunga and I dated for two years and I didn’t even know what his room looked like. But he was enthusiastic about having me in his life day by day. We had serenity love; all my despair was gone. He was my saccharin and I was his. I was confident that we would last forever; I would glide every time I saw him.
Although I hadn’t forgotten about a boy who drove me nuts and changed me but I was half way there. The last two years of high school were totally different from the last two years of university. Out of the four years I spent in university, we had been dating for two years. We decided to get married.
I was done with university so I was ready to marry him. I was almost satiable but just a little something was missing. Preparations for the wedding seemed to go well. Everyone couldn’t wait for it.
8 August, my birthday, my wedding day, a day the department of arts and culture called me and told me I was hired early in the morning. It seemed like a day of my bliss; a day I would make a holiday if I were in government.
I was amazingly beautiful on that day; I just seemed like an angel in that white wedding dress. As I walked in the beautiful City Hall, with my dad holding my hand, everybody stood up. As we walked I kept on smiling. My husband to be, who was standing next to Pastor Jordan, was waiting for me.
I saw tears of joy filling his eyes. He looked at me like he was thinking: Tonight I’ll get to see that hot body of yours. My dad brought me to him and he took a seat. Just when Pastor Jordon was about to start talking, a guy walked in.
He wore a red golf-shirt with black shorts with pockets on the sides, on his feet were white Nike takkies. The whole outfit matched with him. I turned and I looked at him while everybody else did the same.
It was a boy of my dreams. He was grown but his looks hadn’t changed a bit. As he was still coming slowly towards us I turned back and looked at my fiancé with my eyes full of tears. He looked at me like he knew my eyes were saying goodbye.
I then ran to the boy of my dreams as he was coming. We both clasped each other for a moment and we kissed for a moment. That moment felt like heaven.
People made din; it was like everybody was in shock as no one tried to stop us for minutes. While people made noise, I grabbed his hand and I ran with him. I heard someone calling my name but I kept running until I felt like I was flying, flying with a man of my dreams.
