Operation heartbreak phase two is in motion. Daniella hacks Chris and Mary’s phones and monitors all their calls and texts. She also buys a burner phone.

It is a Saturday afternoon, and Daniella has taken out Mary for lunch at Nandos. Right after their food arrives, she excuses herself to use the bathroom. She leaves her iPhone with Mary and takes her black clutch bag to the bathroom.

Once in the bathroom, she removes from her clutch the small black Mobicel phone she recently purchased.

She types: I see you when you’re good. I see you when you’re bad.  Do you think you’ve been good, Mary? Think really hard while you enjoy those ribs.

She returns to the table to find Mary clutching her phone, trembling with fear while looking around the restaurant.

“Mary, are you okay?” she says, sitting down. She takes Mary’s trembling hands in her own. “You look like you have seen a ghost.”

“Someone is stalking me; let us go back home.”

“What?”

Mary pulls her hands free and hands Daniella the phone.

Daniella makes sure to widen her eyes as she reads. “Omg!” She covers her mouth,

“I am so sorry, girl. Who would send such a text to you?”

“I have no idea,” she replies, sniffing, her eyes watery. She stands up, and Daniella follows her, and they drive back home in Daniella’s Gold BMW M4 in silence.

Daniella has been fishing for clues to verify if operation heartbreak was effective.  Since the text message at Nandos, Mary has been paranoid and has kept looking over her shoulder wherever she was. Chris has never left her side to guarantee her safety.

Another week passes by. Daniella has been sending Mary more text messages. She has made sure to act surprised each time Mary showed her the new text message she has received.

It is Sunday night. Daniella, Chris and Mary have just finished having dinner at Daniella’s apartment. The couple is about to leave when Mary realises that she can’t find her phone.

“Babe, I can’t find my phone. Can you please call it?” she asks Chris while picking up the pink cushions on the white leather couch in Daniella’s living room.

“Sorry, babe, I don’t have airtime.” He turns to Dee, “Do you have any airtime?”

“Oh sure, here.” She takes her iPhone from the front pocket of her blue jeans, unlocks it and hands it to Mary.

“Thanks,” Mary says, taking the cell phone and punching her number. A ringing emerges from under the white leather couch.

“Oh, good.” She kneels and stretches out her hand.

“What the…” she drops her phone on top of the couch when she sees the caller ID. “No! it can’t be.” She shakes her head in disbelief, and tears start to roll from her cheeks.

Both Chris and Daniella look at her in confusion; she approaches Daniella and slaps her hard across her face. “You witch! How could you, huh?” she is about to slap her again when Chris grabs her.

“What is wrong with you?” Chris snaps at Mary, tightening his grip around her.

Then it hits Daniella that she had put the sim card of her burner phone into her iPhone that morning to use the airtime in it to call her mother and had forgotten to take it out after the call.
