I never had aid for such cases, mama would lay me down and fan me until I got better and then I would rest. I could still hear what Thandie was saying, by the time she got to me, she screamed at my face.

“Did you really think there will ever be a sister bond between us? You’re just a depressed albino trying to be super woman…so I might as well break it to you now. The Matjitas you see here are looking into selling stupid albinos like you for millions, like they did with Pheli. I just strung you along to surrender you to Zaka, so he can sell you to the Nigerians and they sell you to the witches,”

I could tell Zoe had fainted because I didn’t hear her voice. There was no point in asking Thandie why she was doing this to me. I just broke down because I had nothing to say.
“The only reason I am selling you is because I love you and want you to be of use to someone else, rather than acting all super woman and of course to raise money for me and Zaka to secure our bundle of joy’s future. Yes, I’m pregnant. And we are going to buy two cars and a house,” Thandie then kissed my forehead. I guess that was goodbye.

That was all I remembered when I woke up in some old room, stinky of feet and probably cheese. I didn’t know what happened to Zoe but I felt like she was somewhere near me. It was dark in room and I was alone with rats. I even had my first period, I used a tissue paper as sanitary towels.
I was in the middle of nowhere, only God knew. I was stranded with drum noises and smoke coming in from outside, I heard screams every day from outside and wondered when I would also scream. I wished well for Thandie, mama and S’gubhu, who we never got to save. If I ever get out of this, I would call mama, that is if she still used the same number.

Tell us: Do you think Thandie and Zaka really sold Cindy?
