It was a bit cool in the morning. I could smell coffee from my sleep, only this one really called for a sip. Suddenly I heard voices from a bit far. I woke up to see who it was, but the door from where the voices came from was closed. They were in the kitchen.

I wished I could see who this next person talking to Dee was. In fact, they were arguing. Maybe it was her boyfriend, who knew? But I knew that voice. After sometime, Dee came back and I guess the guy left. She didn’t look happy. I think she didn’t realise I was looking at her because the minute she noticed, a fake smile appeared.

“Hey. You’re awake,” she said, coming to help me stand up.

“Yeah. Morning,” I replied.

“Morning dear. I prepared breakfast for you but I’ll let you go and bath first,” she said.

“Really, you didn’t have to Dee. But thank you,” I replied.

She then helped me to the bathroom. God! I’d never seen such a huge bathroom before. This house was the bomb! Whoever designed it really knew his thing. Dee prepared a bubble bath for me. I just got in and relaxed. I nearly fell asleep but she came to woke me up. I just got out of the water and wiped myself. I then walked to the bedroom she said I should occupy.

Damn! My destiny was written by luck. I moved from being a homeless kid to being a lucky queen. I ran to jump on top of the bed but as much as my excitement took me to the roof, my body was still in pain, so I hurt myself. I screamed from pain after hitting the headboard with my head. Dee came and instead of helping me, she laughed.

For a moment, I laughed at myself too. She gave me new clothes for me to wear. I put them on, then went to eat my breakfast. She said she had to leave for some business meeting but she wouldn’t take long. We exchanged hugs, then she left.

I wondered what kind of business she was in. She didn’t look like the business type. In fact she looked pretty much like a whore. It was what it was. Wearing a wig in 2016? She could afford Brazilian hair mos, but then again, who was I to judge? Maybe she just feels good wearing it that way, I thought.

Dee came back, found me lying on the couch watching TV. She was with a very scary man.

Tumi, I want you to meet someone,” she said with a delighted face. I got up and sat straight. I couldn’t wait to hear who this pimp-looking man was going to be.

“This is King, my brother. King, this is Tumi, the new girl I told you about,” she said.

The approach was weird, I thought she’d say ‘my new friend’ at least but now it sounded like I was about to be sold.

“Mm! She’s beautiful,” he said, kissing my hand with those black burnt lips. His hands where all gold, heavy with those ugly rings nobody knows from which shop they’re sold. His face had this very huge scar that made it hard for me to see the face. Traumatised and quiet, Dee pinched me.

“Ouch! I mean – Hi, nice to meet you, Mr King,” I stuttered.

“Likewise princess,” he replied.

Well I must say, I wasn’t expecting this. This dude looked like a life time thug, Dee looked like a life time whore! I wondered what they would turn me into?
