They arrived in her flat which had a queen bed, a leather three seater couch, a small coffee table. On the left is fitted cupboards, a fridge, a two plate stove, microwave, a wooden table with four chairs and on the right is a door leading to the bathroom.
Ntando sat and relaxed for a bit, facing a table with TV with pictures of Getty and some people.
“What do you want to drink while you wait for dinner?” she asked patiently.
“Whiskey if you have?” he said from the couch facing her.
She took a bottle of John Walker and handed him a glass. He look puzzled, he looked at her in shock.
“You drink whiskey?” he asked.
“No, I keep it for friends,” she replied laughing.
She took chicken out of the fridge and marinated it with some spices. She peeped at him while he was busy changing channels. In twenty minutes she had made chicken curry with a delicious aroma that spread in her room.
“Your food smells good,” he said sipping the whiskey.
She served him his chicken curry with pap and steamed vegetables. They ate in silence. Ntando quickly wiped his plate clean by licking it with his finger. He moved closer and kissed Getty’s lips. She smelt the whiskey and pushed him away.
“You smell of alcohol,” she said laughing.
“I love you, I really do. I can’t control my feelings. You are the woman I want,” he said kissing her.
Getty couldn’t resist Ntando. She felt weak and kissed him back and before she knew it they were laying naked in bed. Getty opened her eyes after falling asleep. She couldn’t believe that she had sex with Ntando. She wanted to get to know him first, but she now feels she loves him. What if he hurts her? Love is about chances though. You have to experience it and if it doesn’t work then you have to pick up the pieces and move on.
She laid her head on his chest as he held her tightly. The tone of her messages woke her. Ntando was asleep. She woke up quietly and checked her phone on the kitchen cupboard. It was Hendry.
Baby we need to talk.
She switched off her phone and slept facing the opposite side of Ntando.
