The city came to a standstill at the news of 48-year-old, Philani Mthombeni’s murder, in his home. He was strangled with a pair of shoelaces and was dragged into his back yard.

Linda got the call that her father was murdered and was ordered to come to the secret head office right after her father’s burial.
They gave her a picture of a man named Themba Ntini. The 45-year-old was Mr Mthombeni’s friend and his right hand man.
“This is the man who killed your father. I know it is hard to believe, but with the relationship they had, do you think he was going to miss his funeral? Sadly, he was not at the funeral. He is also the last person who was with your father the very last night before he was murdered,” Mr Yako explained.

They handed her other photos and those were of Mr Ntini coming and leaving Mr Mthombeni’s house. Linda had never met Mr Ntini although she had heard her father speak highly of him. She was shocked to why and how Mr Ntini would do such a thing. She asked but they did not have an answer to it. They gave her a map, a small bag containing binoculars, a 9-millimeter gun, a riffle and a map.
“Our men have located him and we have seen it best that you handle this one. Don’t negotiate with him, kill him and settle the score. Do it for the service and for your father too,” Mr Yako continued.

Linda threw her travelling bag into the boot of her sports car. It was a fast, fancy sports car. She always knew how to drive it. She not only drove it but she always used up the whole entire speed every time she got the chance.

She walked over to the front, opened up the door then started off the engine. She drove away to a remote area of KZN. She pulled out a small map from the dashboard and moved her fingers over it. The area was rather confusing for her and it was even getting late but the map played a great role as she got the route back as this was a remote area, people hardly lived there. The GPS on her phone had died as soon as she entered the area, there was no network for her to use her mobile device and she needed a map to find her way around.

After she picked up the route, she gladly placed her foot onto the gas pedal and the speedometer went from 60 to a staggering 220 in just a few seconds. Just when Linda was approaching a curve, she failed to cut the curve and her car went out of the small road and into the trees, turning several times and Linda was stuck inside as her seatbelt could not release her so she could try jumping out. The car finally hit a tree then it stopped.
