“They sure are creepy,” Noobie said as he crouched in front of the Bizzaro.

“Look at its breathing patterns, it’s practically panting,” he said, pointing at his chest.

“It’s probably because of this thin air,” Richie said.

“It doesn’t have a skin,” Noobie said while poking it. “This is not anything the world’s ever seen.”

“It’s not carbon based, it’s something like a mixture of gas and tangible matter,” Nerdy said, also poking it.

“What was it doing to you?” Nerdy asked Rodney.

“It was absorbing me, something from the top of my skin, my skin became paler the more they absorbed me,” he said, looking at his now pale skin. “It drained so much of my energy that it knocked me out, almost killed me.”

“Photon and pigmentation absorption, like I had hypothesized!” Nerdy said.

Rodney closed the bottle of water he was drinking and picked up the snack wrappers and put them in his bag. He was now wearing Vic’s plastic clothing and mask.

Noobie turned on his flashlight and shone it in its eyes.

“Look at those things, they’re so weird.” Almost immediately, Bizzaro Rodney started squirming and wiggling vigorously.

It growled and grunted in pure anger. It paused suddenly then started absorbing the light particles from it. Noobie, out of fright, dropped the flashlight and stepped back. They were all shocked.

“Step back, they have a limit to their range,” Rodney yelled at Noobie, who backed up some more.

Bizzaro Rodney started squirming again. He made a high-pitched sound. It was like a wail but longer and more eerie.

“Oh, no!” Rodney screamed, vehemently.

“What?” Richie asked.

“He’s calling the others, we gotta get out of here,” Rodney said hurrying weakly to the door.

“Too late, guys,” Noobie said looking outside the window, “they are already on their way.”

Outside of the clubhouse in the woods, their Bizzaro counterparts running like they are possessed towards the clubhouse.

“Barricade the door!” Richie roared.

The boys besides Rodney. Pushed a desk situated at the corner of the room and pushed it against the door. The Bizzaros reached the door but couldn’t open it. So they kept banging on it.

“Let’s go out the trap door,” Richie commanded.

The boys slipped out down a trap door that was concealed by a Bizzaro mat. Richie bent his knees and lowered his back.

“Come on!” he said to Rodney.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this,” Rodney said, rolling his eyes.

He threw himself on Richie’s back. Once he was settled, Richie broke into a sprint. The others were ahead of them but Richie was already the fastest 8th grade runner at Bettisonville High, so he knew he would catch up with them regardless of the extra weight. Their Bizzaro counterparts realized their escape attempt and went around the clubhouse. They started chasing them; they ran as if they were possessed.

“Richie,” Rodney said looking back, “run faster!”

“I’m sorry, are you the one giving someone a piggy back ride?” Richie said sarcastically.

“Rodney I’m serious, run faster, they are right behind us!” Rodney warned.

Richie looked back and saw the creepy Bizzaro kids, agitated, chasing them hungrily. He then looked to the front, towards his street, as Vic was leading them to the portal he was sure he needed to aid him, as also he had to come out of this rescue mission alive. He devised a plan and immediately thought he should put it in action, no matter the risks involved.

“Guys,” Richie yelled over to them in the front.

“Get ready to take out your flashlights and at my command turn them on and throw them at the Bizzaros,” he said in one breath, “you too, Rodney, I’m gonna put you down, can you run?”

“I think so,” Rodney said with his eyes closed, he always was the sensitive type, his eyes were affected by the wind.

As the boys approached Feck Street, Richie’s street, he tightened his gut, took a big breath and yelled, “now!”

He dropped Rodney, who landed on his feet timidly, then he took out a flashlight as the others did too. They turned them on and threw them towards the Bizzaro boys. His plan worked, they got distracted absorbing the light from the flashlights and the boys didn’t waste time, they ran towards Richie’s Bizzaro home.

Richie outran them, leaving the weak limping Rodney behind, but for a good cause for he ran to the gate and flung it open. He looked at Rodney who had caught up with the others and was relieved.

“Go, go, go!” Richie said as he held open the gate and the boys shot in with intense adrenaline full speed.

“Bizzaro Mrs Pulanski!” Nerdy said coming to a halt at the sight of Bizzaro Mrs Pulanski at the bottom of the stairs in the front porch.

Noobie didn’t stop, didn’t flinch, he bolted by the boys and shoved her aside and proceeded inside the house.

Do you think they boys will make it back through the portal in time?
