“Baba,thank you for everything,” she said sincerely.

“God has made me rich,” he said and hugged his wife holding Elina.

“I have a very big surprise,” he said.

“Another one baba?”, she said smiling after eating the food.

“You are my wife and I must take care of you,” he said smiling.

His bag was on the floor near the bed. Charlene noticed it, and wanted to pick it.

“Charlene what are you doing?” he asked standing by the door.

“Why is in this bag. It looks full,” she asked concerned.

“Charlene don’t wory a lot, it’s papers for work,” he answered.

Charlene went out to the bedroom. He had to hide money. He stashed it inside his big blazer and left the one to buy furniture.

He checked Elina who was playing with her teddy. She made funny sounds. Anthony stared at his angel Elina and smiled.

After Charlene did the dishes, they slept. Charlene was on Anthony chest who stared into the darkness after the light was off. He kept thinking about his plans to get the heads for the snake.

Morning came fast and Anthony fell asleep at 2am. He felt as if he needed to sleep more until Charlene screamed waking him up.

“You are going to be late,” she said puling the blanket away.

Anthony struggle to open his eyes then he went straight to the bathroom. He dressed into his new black suit with a purple shirt. Charlene kept staring at him.

“You look smart and what is the surprise, Anthony,” she said adoring him.

He came closer and kissed his wife. She giggled and went to Elina in the bedroom.

“Charlene, I am going. Please answer your phone later,”he called loudly and left.

First he went to work. He did all the work he had for that day. It wasn’t much. He went to the furniture store and brought new bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, plasma TV with a stand, dining chairs and couches.They were delivered into his new home in Mandara. He saw two guys who were desperate for work.They will help him move the furniture.

When the furniture was all in, he took his phone and dialled Charlene number. It went to voicemail. He send a message.

Charlene I need you to come at this address. 108 Baburg street. Mandara.

He waited for thirty minutes. He sat on the couch and looked around. He fell asleep and was awoken by a knock.

He wiped his eyes and stood up. He walked to the door. Charlene stood at the door.

“My wife,come in. I though you hadn’t got my message,” he said pulling her inside.She had Elina on her back. She was sleeping.

“Wow, whose house is this?” she asked when she saw the new furniture.

“Is this your suprise?” she asked.

She was puzzled and went around checking all the rooms. Only one room was locked.

“And that room?” she asked.

“It will be my study… I am going to do business in there. I will keep it locked,” he said nervously.

“Ok baba,” she said removing the baby on her back. Anthony held the baby while Charlene kept running in all the rooms.

“Is this all ours?” she asked.

“Everything is ours,” he answered.

Charlene hugged her husband. From poor to rich, she couldn’t believe it.

Anthony said that it was God who’d blessed them. Charlene didn’t even think it was God. Anthony never went to church in his life. Charlene went to church but not all the time. She only went to socialise. If God could strike them dead, they would have died.

“When are we moving in?” she asked concerned.

“On the weekend, we can stay here till the shift late,” he answered.

“I want to watch TV. You are an adorable man. Thank you,” she said.

Anthony oredered takeaways and they ate, watching a movie on their plasma TV.
