I stood in the middle of nowhere
Came from I don’t know where
My dumb feet too thick and weak
From the race I think I was never part of
And had all strength to cut it off

Heavy words stung the bread of my head
Malicious words ate the delicious grain of my brain
Convincing my spirit to deny but agree
My mortal to refuse and also accept in repetition

My eyes swallowed the adorable fruits
The still-raw strawberries that couldn’t wait to ripen
To make me crazily crave them
But had I unknowingly known
That they would finally make my life raw forever
