As tears fall from my eye
I look up into the sky,
And ask my father why
Did he create a being like I,
For as much as I try
Suffering greets me on high,
And much good I do there’s no lie
Yet my doings people deny,
Less joy I know and much I cry
Just a shadow passing by,
Such sadness and pain in my heart do fry
As much as I faithfully try,
My days go by and nights grow nigh
Yet tears stream from my eye,
I sometimes feel and I tell no lie
That better it is if I fall down and die.
