Shimmers of the sun
Cascade over the quiet meadows
Fresh breath wasps up against
My waking face
from whence cometh my help
my help cometh from the Lord

Staggering walks break the morning dew
upon glistening carpets of grass
my feet craft melodies
soothing to the heart
As the lily’s bathe in soft colours
a bird rings in the distance

My desire is to worship him
and praise him amongst
the towering green
my dog runs in ecstasy

My God this you have made
and more you have planned
briskly I fall to my knees
I sing a song

Indeed your hand has signed
melodies into nature’s fibre
our being is brushed in tunes
so lofty, so true
your wonder is all around me

My vision grasps a leaf falling to the ground
here today, gone tomorrow
a wave tossed in the ocean
a vapour in the wind
still you hear me when I’m calling
Lord you catch me when I’m falling
and you told me who I am
I am yours, amen
