I am from a place where the mango trees are high and touch the sky.
Where the sun kisses the Earth and fish toss and turns in thirst.

I am from a place where the faces bear bright smiles with a hint of sadness in the eyes.
Where mothers sit on the dusty pavement swatting away flies, hustling to keep their families alive.

I am from a place that is warm and sunny during the day but cold and scary at night.
Where you have to watch yourself, guard your money, and most importantly guard your heart.

I am from a place where the land is fertile and rich but to stay would be to dig yourself into a ditch.
