When I close my eyes
Low and less consciously laid
In such a non-luminous moment
Journeying from sunset to sunrise
Reminiscing about yesterday
That becomes a pleasant tomorrow
An appealing forever afterwards
A red-letter day of mine
A day the sun smiled at me
I, a success story
Yes! In the same type of doze
The fatigue-triggered snooze
Pertaining to odd deeds of the day
Hence the call of a nap at night
Some sort of my usual abnormality
Then if such be my sleep
With yawns and snores so deep
A stir-resistant kind of sleep
Although the cause be not a sip
Will I wake up that haloed soul?
