Like every child out there
I’ve got dreams
I don’t wait for someone to order me around
I create opportunities
Yes, I’m a Black child
But at least I’m not lying around waiting
For the job to come my way.

I’m an African child
But my future is not confined by charity
I’m on a race but I race with my own pace
In a lane full of different people.

I’m an African child
I’m from the Xhosa tribe
I do my own thing without using connections
I’m on a race with millions but I race at my own pace
Because I know I may be slow but I will win the race.
