You’re not intimidated by boundaries because
You understand that not everything in life is to be trusted.
Every time a new boundary is set
And there’s a fear inside that maybe this will push you away,
You always take a coloured pen and you draw over the line
To caution me when I might want to go back on my word
Because you understand the importance of boundaries
Even the boundaries that I don’t say aloud you hear
And you darken them too in order to highlight them for me
So that I don’t forget my own boundaries
Sometimes in fear and in doubt I draw crooked lines,
You always take a ruler and straighten them and assure me
That when I’m ready to fully address that line you’ll be there.
I love how I draw lines and you straighten them
