My beauty comes from the nature of Africa
My skin is black
Because I am an African
I may speak many different languages
But the truth is that,
My mind is engaged by Africa and its nature

When I hear the word “ubuntu”
I remember that I’m not alone
And where we all come from:
The pain of apartheid

I can argue with many people
But I can remember that respect comes first
I may not wear my traditional clothes
But I cannot forget about the past
I may have light skin
But my skin is black inside and it shows that I’m the black child
The child who doesn’t fear to speak for her country

The black soil is for my skin
The red colour on South African flag is for my blood
The green colour on South African flag is for nature that made me to be beautiful

I laugh,
I cry,
I feel pain with everyone
I love my birth mark
And I’m beautiful because of nature
I don’t need make-up to be beautiful
Because I am an African child

I’m proud to be called African child
I’m proud to be called black child
I am the black child
