Linda’s mother went out every day to work. One day, after she had gone to work, Linda was waiting for the water to boil so she could wash the dishes, and then sweep and mop the floor. She wanted to wear a dress so she went and took a very nice one from her sister’s room.

Her friend came to visit her and they decided to leave what Linda was doing and go out. She suddenly realised that she was very late, and her mother would be home. She was so frightened. Her friend came with her to explain and her mother said, ‘Okay.’ But from then on she decided she would never go out without asking.
