Crimson red cheeks and mournful beady eyes
A bruised heart, beating to the rhythm of her tears
He dragged her sinking body across the floor of torture
Like a bag of scrap yet to be discarded

Is it wrong that she is female or did he fear her strength?
The venomous adrenaline running through her inflamed veins
Barely visible through her scalded skin
Her caged heart pounded against the bars of bones

He asked her to stop protesting, to be silent
Her voice hidden deep within the folds of her larynx
Is it wrong that she wanted to be heard?
Or did he fear the loss of being the superior voice?

He eyed her carefully, his blood overflowing with fear
Is it possible that they could be equal?
He shook his head with disbelief
Patriarchy dominated his soul

He was her first love
And she was his only enemy
Together, they battled the war of equality
But he was determined to tip the balance

What was it that separated him from her?
It was simply fear
The fear of being overpowered
The fear of being inferior

Is it all men or is it the fear in every woman?
It is indeed, fear

Fear-ale
A gender of its own
A gender of fear and division
The fear between males and females.
