I weep floods of pain,
As I go down memory lane,
And realise that I made the wrong choice.
I look closely at myself at 8, filled with life,
But was restricted by the nonsensical:
“Education is the key to success”.
That illusion overshadowed my independence of thinking,
I was well-known for my intelligence,
But little did others know, that I was just a machine,
As all I did was imbibe information,
In the quest to find the promised success.

I never turned East to sport,
Or West to music/dance,
Because they were not education
And therefore led not to success.
