Born disadvantaged
But I tread on courageously
Carrying my pride on my sleeves
Evergreen like mango leaves
Not worried about my brokenness

Born marginalised
Yet I step about like I have it all
Because I wholly realise
This heart beating is gold
On its own no man can dig

Born tormented
By society’s harsh standards
But surely I won’t be another statistic
That lived and fell prey
To the dungeon of nothingness
