Kodwa mna ndithi “Igqirha lendlela nguqongqothwane”
Kuvulelwa abankqonkqozayo
Kodwa phela kohlanga oluqeqesha imiqwebedu eqaqadekileyo
Isizwe esibonisana kwindlala
Siyazi izandla ziyahlambana
Inkungu ilala kwiintaba ngeentaba
UbuXhosa buval’ intanda
Kwingxaki zoxabana
Bafundis’ uxolelwano
Babophan’ amanxeba

Being black and Xhosa is beautiful

Such an empowering poem, it gives me confidence about my background and my identity. Even though I'm living in the city , that doesn't mean I must forget who I am.
